Passive Aggressive Marketing

Are you PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE about your marketing?  Let's define Passive Aggressive.

being, marked by, or displaying behavior characterized by the expression of negative feelings, resentment, and aggression in an unassertive passive way (as through procrastination and stubbornness)  

Well, there you have it. When we hear this word, it has a negative connotation and overall uneasy feel about it in most cases.  For instance, how can "passive" be measured?   By the amount of time it takes before you take "action"?   

Aggressive. This word, also has a somewhat ominous presentation. Sounds fast and furious. Now, that’s how I roll so this word means something different to me than perhaps to you or others.  I like it! I choose to see this as pro-active and competitive. That drives me.    

Let's change our perspective for a moment. Let's look at it in relation to marketing for your business. Are you content or passive about making a change that is needed? Is what you have now, working? Is it just too much of a bother to make changes? It sounds arduous and like an imposition at times.  

Maybe, even expensive. What would the results of being "aggressive" in your marketing look like? Well, in our opinion, they would look successful because aggressive marketing is proactive marketing and proactive is dynamic. Just like this world. Just like communication and technology. It’s ever-changing. 

Waiting until the last minute, when everything around you has already changed, i.e. competitor’s marketing, puts you in emergency mode to make a change. Quick decisions, without a strategy, are usually not good decisions. 

Take a look at your overall marketing. Is it consistent? What is your message? What is your brand promise? If you don’t know, and you are not proud of what the world sees you putting out to them, then it’s time for a change. 

Passive Aggressive marketing doesn’t work as there is no plan, no systems and there is a complete lack of strategy. 

Take the emotion and the procrastinating out of it and put the logic and systems right into it and see what happens.
